Leon county sheriff's office

The Leon County Sheriff's Office (LCSO) is a law enforcement agency located in Tallahassee, Florida.  The LCSO Community and Media Relations Unit (CMRU) is a department that works directly under the Sheriff to aid in promoting and marketing the Sheriff's initiatives to the public and agency employees.

During my time at LCSO I served as a media specialist in the CMRU where I was responsible for executing both print and online internal and external communications for the Leon County Sheriff's Office.

Graphic dESIgNS

These are graphics I made under the directive of the CMRU Executive Director and Community and Crime Prevention Manager.  For each graphic you see below, I received requests from my executive director or manager detailing the weekly or monthly initiative or program the Sheriff wanted to promote through an event, newsletter, social media flyers or broadcast. For each one, my process involved breaking down the project brief, incorporating or creating copy for the visual as well as finding or creating consistent visuals to match the themes through color schemes, font combinations and visual cues.

Designs were created through the use of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Canva.

PUBLICATIONS

Email Newsletters

The ALLin Update is a monthly newsletter that would be sent out the end of each month. The newsletter was curated for Sheriff's office staff and community members who subscribed to the newsletters (via links) and were interested in learning about the latest initiatives or activities taking place with the Leon County Sheriff's Office or within Leon county. I was able to curate several editions of the newsletter from October 2022-April 2025.  Many of the topics or events show in the newsletter were later adapted for social media posts to encourage active engagement on the information presented.

AGENCY CALENDAR

Agency Calendars were curated and distributed for print annually, at the beginning of the year. Calendars were available to agency members as well the public. Agency calendars often highlighted deputies, agency events for employees or community events that took place throughout the year.
